I know that you’ll answer that you don’t have any friends but I know that you actually do! We all have friends that need to get to know who Jesus is and Camp is a great place to meet Jesus for the first time. Think about who you want to bring to camp this year.

• Houseboat Camp (HBC) will take place July 25-30 and will cost $300.00 per camper if registered by June 15th. We need your registration forms and a deposit of $150.00 by June 15th in order to save your spot at the camp. After June 15th the price goes up to $350.00. HBC is open to students entering the 9th grade up to College Students up to age 25.
• Middle School Camp (MSC) will take place the following week August 1-5 and will cost $250.00 per camper if registered by June 15th. We need your registration forms and a deposit of $125.00 by June 15th to save your spot at this camp. MSC is open to students entering 6th grade up to students entering 9th grade.

If you have questions about camps please talk to Pastor Robbie ASAP. If you are stressed out about the cost of camps, talk to Pastor Robbie. It won’t be as expensive because we are going to rely on our church to help us go to camp. Last year camp only cost us $35.00 because our church stepped up BIG TIME! Plan on going!!!

Most of your schools require a number of community service hours for graduation. Projects like our Churches in Action Project will satisfy the requirements for your community service hours.

There are a variety of ways that you can fulfill community service hours required through your school with the Youth Group .

• If you worked with us this past week at one of the schools with the Churches in Action project you can get hours for that.
• This Sunday night (10/31/2010 @ 6:00pm) we are having a community Halloween festival that the church calls “Celebration of Children”. If you want to help by dressing up and operating a booth you should let me know ASAP.
• Starting in November the church will be starting a regular mid-week children’s ministry called “Caravans”. It’s silly and fun for kids and we need some of you to be teachers helpers for different age groups. “Caravans will happen on Tuesday evenings but beyond that I’m a little fuzzy on the details! It will probably be about the same time as youth group… just on Tuesday.

In helping with these fun little programs you can a) be a part of the bigger church and start learning what it means to serve on a regular basis and b) you can fulfill some of your schools required community service hours.

In order to get the hours you need, go to your schools office and collect any paperwork they have for documenting your community service time. Bring the papers to me to fill out and you’ll be all set. Don’t let these opportunities slip by. The last thing you want to do is cram in all of your community service hours in at the last minute! TRUST ME!

There were a few calendar reminders for the coming weeks. First happens this coming Wednesday night (10.20.10). We will have a change of venue and time. Because of the coming Churches in Action project that will be happening on Sunday, October 24th we will be getting together with the youth group over at Mission Springs Community Church. We will be on their turf so it’s by their rules and their time. They meet at 7:00pm and their group goes until around 8:45pm. We will get together at the Journey of Faith parking lot at 6:30 and carpool over together. DON’T BE LATE!!!

Churches in Action (CIA) will take place on Sunday, October 24th. The projects this year will have us digging around our schools. Fremont Unified School District is identifying four campuses that are in need of help with their grounds. The youth of both Journey of Faith and Mission Springs Community Church will work together on one project so it’s time to get together and build that relationship.
